Mycelia are the organisms that sit under the soil and enable the community of plants above to thrive. Mycelia play a critical role in the health of ecosystems, breaking down organic matter and recycling it for plants to use. It’s no wonder mycelia have been labelled the ‘heroes of the earth’.
It’s the perfect metaphor for how we work – bringing systems thinking and strategic design to co-create positive conditions with regional businesses and communities so that their initiatives flourish.
We are critically aware that First nations and regional communities have and continue to face barriers to participating in our transitioning economy. We aim to reduce these barriers so the people we work with have equitable access to the resources they need.
Our Values
As a values-driven organisation, we seek to collaborate with other individuals and organisations who share and appreciate our values. We welcome opportunities to explore how our values might fit with yours.
There is no planet B, and our limited resources are shared by more than just humans. It is a privilege to care for our planet and we act on our responsibility for inter-generational equity in balance with environmental needs.
The time for change is now. We are change makers and part of the growing movement of individuals, communities and organisations laying the path for sustainable transformation and a fairer world.
We believe that sustainable transformation is needed, and more balanced ways of being are led by First Nations. We actively seek pathways for decolonial futures.
We value diversity of knowledge in order to holistically design transformative solutions. We feel privileged to work with holders of diverse knowledges and take care in how knowledge is gathered and shared.
We believe transformation is better when it’s designed by the people it affects, or those at the forefront of impacts already being felt. Our collaboration is underpinned by deep-listening, reciprocity, inclusion and empowerment.
Emergence occurs through the interplay of ideas, values, culture, perceptions, and experiences. We value and hold this space to foster safety for creative freedom, nurturing curiosity and imagination to design change beyond where we are now.
Our Approach
Collaboration and Co-design
Collaboration and co-design are at the heart of everything we do. We are facilitators and connectors, and we hold space for emergence.
We use a variety of methods that empower our clients to lead their own initiatives.
We facilitate systemic inquiry and community-centred co-design to ensure people are at the centre of designing solutions to the challenges they face.
We also broker partnerships and investment to bring in the resources needed to support the change our clients are seeking.

We are inspired by Soft Systems Methodology, various design methodologies and First Nations ways of knowing, being and doing.
